Festival of Sail Sept 1-4 North Embarcadero on San Diego Bay Check out the largest tall ship festival on the west coast with the annual Festival of the Sail presented by the Port of San Diego and the Maritime Museum. There is a tall ships parade with a limited number of seats, tall ships battle reenactment with cannon blasts and hundreds of food/arts/crafts vendors from the west coast. U.S. Sand Scultping Challenge and Exposition Sept 2-5 Broadway Pier and Pavilion A fun 4 day Extravaganza that the whole family can enjoy. Hundreds of thousands have come each year to see master-class sculptors build beautiful 3-dimensional works of art. Now many of the world’s finest artists will come to create the most amazing sculptures ever. San Diego Symphony 1812 Tchaikosvky Spectacular Sept 1-3 San Diego Bay Summer winds down but not before the cannons and fireworks light up San Diego Bay to Tchaikovsky’s awesome ‘1812 Overture’. Join us as we celebrate summer’s end in spectacular style! This year’s concert will also feature music by Piotr Tchaikovsky’s fellow Russian composers Modest Mussorgsky, Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Serge Prokofiev. Little Italy Stick Ball Tournament Sept 2-3 Happening near our hotel the Labor Day Stickball Tournament takes over a the streets of Little Italy and allows players to revisit some childhood memories. The annual Labor Day Stick Ball Tournament is all about honoring long-standing traditions, paying tribute to this East Coast sporting pastime and having a fun!

Columbia Street erupts with yelling and cheering for the stick ball teams, stirring up childhood memories. Come out and see these teams grab a broom stick, table leg or any other kind of bat-like stick that will send a rubber Wilson ball flying! Playing Fields
